Have You Ever Seen a Park within a Park?

Living a healthy lifestyle is so much more than getting in your daily exercise. Babcock Ranch provides an unparalleled way of living, with amenities, parks and trails that help every member of your family live their happiest, healthiest life. Half of this new home community’s 18,000-acre footprint is dedicated to lakes, parks and greenways. With more than 100 miles of trails and parks designed into the town’s master plan, Babcock Ranch offers endless opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Introducing The PKWY

In the community’s newest development phase, MidTown, there will be a system of six new parks connected by a winding 3.5-mile stretch of green space offering themed playgrounds, grassy mounds and multi-purpose fields for picnics and community gatherings. The PKWY will span approximately 313 acres of Curry Creek Preserve. The innovative string of new parks is threaded with connecting walking paths and framed by Babcock Trail road, stretching from Saw Palmetto Parkway to Bluebird Trail. Each park along this meandering stretch of green space is uniquely designed with its own purpose and custom-built features to encourage every child, including the child within us, to go out and explore, play, exercise and enjoy time in nature.

Providing convenience to visitors, every park will boast essential amenities such as restrooms, shaded pavilions and ample parking facilities. Alternatively, for those inclined towards a more dynamic experience, cycling or jogging along the extensive network of existing paths and trails spanning over 20 miles offers an opportunity for a rejuvenating outdoor adventure. Furthermore, these parks will seamlessly blend with new trails leading into the preserve, enriching connectivity and accessibility for everyone

Wander through What’s Coming to Each Park

Bluebird Park will feature grassy mounds, bluebird-themed amenities and innovative playground equipment.

Hillcrest Park takes the high ground with an impressive hill for climbing, slides to the bottom, and a two-story observation tower.

The Lagoon park offers serenity and invites anglers to the new 3.3-acre lake for catch-and-release fun in the stocked lake.

Explorers Park is partially funded by a $1.5 million Florida legislative grant to make it a fully inclusive park for people of all abilities. This one-of-a-kind park features a playground with custom equipment that will allow the imagination to run wild, including a life-size airboat- and enormous alligator-shaped play structures. Special sensory areas will be installed, including a 3-D simulation of a Florida panther and cub along with a sensory farm park. An impressive community garden is sure to please residents with a green thumb. An environmental education center and labyrinth are also in the planning stages for this site.

Bark Park will bring two fenced-in areas for small and large breeds, agility courses, and watering stations.

Palmetto Park is geared for play with a covered basketball court, exercise areas and equipment, a super-sized splash pad with an overhead waterfall, a two-story treehouse-themed playground and more.

The first in the series of parks is scheduled for completion in 2024, with the remaining parks completed by mid-2025. Watch this video to get a sneak peek of The PKWY.
