Primer’s newest campus offers Babcock Ranch families an intentionally small K–8 school focused on core academics and hands-on learning
BABCOCK RANCH, Fla. (September 9, 2026) – Babcock Ranch is now home to Primer’s newest K-8 school, bringing a nationwide network of small, private campuses designed to help great educators launch schools that meet the unique needs of their communities. Primer schools are built and run by great educators with the freedom to design a school around the specific kids and families in front of them. Each student is met at their current ability in each subject and progresses as they demonstrate understanding.
“Primer Babcock Ranch is built on a simple idea: When you put students in the driver’s seat of their education, amazing things happen,” said Ryan Delk, CEO and founder of Primer. “We’ve served thousands of families across Florida for many years, and now we get to bring that to Babcock Ranch, alongside educators who already know and love this community.”
The Babcock Ranch campus serves students across three grade bands — K–2, 3–5 and 6–8 — in mixed-age cohorts. Students work closely with the same educator and peers all year, building strong relationships that contribute to a vibrant classroom environment that builds confidence and agency in each child. Mornings are devoted to core academics, including a literacy program rooted in phonics and knowledge-building and a math program that emphasizes conceptual understanding and problem-solving. In the afternoons, students apply their learning through hands-on, interdisciplinary projects driven by their interests and connected to real-world ideas — whether building a robot, developing a business idea or tackling challenges connected to their community.
“Education is a core initiative at Babcock Ranch and we are deeply committed to creating an environment that fosters purposeful, hands-on education with boundless access to learning,” said Syd Kitson, CEO and founder of Babcock Ranch. “It’s incredibly exciting to have Primer’s newest campus now open in our town as part of our growing network of schools and educational facilities, giving families yet another option for best-in-class education.”
Tuition is offered on a sliding scale based on household income to help make Primer accessible to all families. Primer participates in Florida’s Family Empowerment Scholarship program, which provides eligible families with approximately $8,000 per child, with the amount varying by county and grade level.
