Babcock Ranch launches behind-the-scenes podcast exploring town’s development

BABCOCK RANCH, Fla. (Oct. 14, 2026) – Babcock Ranch, America’s first solar-powered town and the nation’s fourth best-selling community in 2025, now has its own podcast introducing audiences to the ideas, the people and the hard-won lessons that brought the trailblazing community to life. Hosted by town founder and visionary Syd Kitson, “The Babcock Ranch Podcast,” a 26-episode audio and video series, officially debuted in September with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Watch and listen to the podcast at BabcockRanch.com. The podcast also airs Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on 710 WOR (New York), with episodes available on demand through the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Full-length video episodes are also available at BabcockRanch.com. Kitson sits down with friends, colleagues and thought leaders who have helped shape the vision of Babcock Ranch. From environmental battles and engineering innovations to world-class building standards and community-building decisions, the podcast explores what it really takes to build a sustainable, resilient master-planned community from the ground up and why doing it right is worth the investment.

“Babcock Ranch began with a belief that we could create a thriving town while protecting the natural environment,” said Syd Kitson, chairman and CEO of Kitson & Partners. “This podcast gives us an opportunity to share the decisions, challenges and lessons that have shaped Babcock Ranch. We hope these conversations inspire others to rethink what’s possible for their own communities.”

Kitson is joined across the season by his son and co-host Tyler Kitson, senior vice president of communities for Kitson & Partners. “Our goal is to share the blueprints, breakthroughs and the tangible lessons we’ve learned so other communities can build smarter,” said Tyler Kitson. “These conversations offer an honest look at what works, what doesn’t and how we designed a town that withstands the tests of time and nature.”

Episodes aired to date have featured special guests Bill Weir from CNN and Amy Wicks who spent nearly two decades designing Babcock Ranch’s innovative stormwater systems. Upcoming episodes feature influential voices offering an unfiltered look inside the hometown of tomorrow.

“Sustainability and resiliency are part of the national dialogue right now, and that shared urgency has helped us attract an extraordinary caliber of guests,” said Syd Kitson, chairman and CEO of Kitson & Partners. “They are leaders, policymakers and on-the-ground engineers who aren’t just theorizing about the future; they are actively solving real-world challenges.”

Created by Kitson & Partners as an environmentally friendly community designed to weather storms through resilient infrastructure, sustainable design, elevation and location, half of Babcock Ranch’s 18,000-acre footprint is set aside as greenways, parks and expansive lakes, providing recreation and scenic backdrops for homes and businesses. The town offers over 100 miles of planned trails, themed recreational parks, collaborative workspaces and Founder’s Square, a regional destination that hosts food truck rallies, live music, farmers markets and signature festivals.

Over a dozen neighborhoods in Babcock Ranch offer condominiums, villas, townhomes, coach homes, single-family residences and luxury custom homes with dozens of one- and two-story floor plans by regional and national homebuilders. Neighborhoods boast innovative resort-inspired amenities, including a water park with slides and a lazy river, golf, restaurants, lakefront clubhouses, sports courts, pools, playgrounds, fitness centers and event lawns. Quick move-in homes offer immediate occupancy.

Babcock Ranch also offers rental opportunities, including single-family homes in The Flatwoods and traditional apartments at Canopy.

The town is planned for over 20,000 residences and approximately 6,000,000 square feet of commercial space. Built to Florida Green Building Coalition standards, homes emphasize energy and water conservation and have a full gig of fiber-optic connectivity. Prices range from the upper-$200,000s to $4 million.
